Who new it would take so long to make bamboo? :/ but here we go

I'm just sad that most of it will be covered up once I get the title in there.
I've actually moved on to re-adjusting the character's pose and tweaking his costume a bit. But his set is done! woo-hoo! Sadly though, that means this is all I get to show you until the entire project is unveiled. But it'll be worth it.

And I'm off to make the 3 o'clock deadline! :D

That's a bit better

still might move the wall down, but NOW it looks like it's finally getting somewhere. It's just a matter of putting in a few more flora into the "courtyard" and placing the character and title. Then DONE with another banner…

maybe change the sky a bit too… we'll see.

-but here's a peek at the next part of the big project I'm working on.

I'm discovering that to make sure I get these done on time, I've got to just go by my notes I was given, and avoid showing it to my "middle-man" who have no idea what they do to me when they ask for "little" changes, that end up doubling the time it takes to get this done.

Still reworking the composition. not happy with it just jet :/

So I'll finish it, and turn it in on time. The final deadline for the whole project is drawing near too quick, and it's time to expedite my workload.
especially when I'm trying to redo animation at the same time, hurr.

self-caricature

Wanted to draw something new to use as my icon/avatar for my other social media blogs. Trying to be more positive about myself and situations… and when I asked friends what animation movie/show I remind them of (to draw style inspiration from, for this) I got Avatar (YAY!!) So that's my touchstone here.

sometimes you don't realize just how hard it is to draw yourself happy, when you aren't feeling it. Things are looking better though.

And I used this to practice cel-shading *cough*sinceI'vebeenneglectingtodothatindrawings*cough*

and now I've got Monty Python's Always Look of the Bright Side of Life going through my head.

Keep hanging on guys, things eventually turn around!

So my computer almost died yesterday

We were having a record heatwave come through the OC area, and there was more than once that I thought my computer was just gonna give up the ghost. But did I do the smart thing right away and turn it off to let it cool? NOOOoooooo
I decided that the possibility of eminent doom was a good time for satire:
