Anne and Grendel WIP

just a little WIP now that I have time to really work on art for myself :)
pug snuggle time! …hm… going to have to change the color of the shoes to make that color blocking clearer otherwise the legs look broken

w00t! so happy to be getting able to do my own fun art - and the fact that i still have the motivation to do it know feels great!
thanks for stopping by again :) I'm hoping to be able to post a lot more art this summer

Anne and Grendel are © Rayna Lenski (aka me)

Advancement Review

well, besides thinking today was the 16th not yesterday I'm hoping my Advancement Review goes well, and I can officially be called a Junior at my college (please oh please oh please oh please)

here are some snippets, some of which I've already posted, but I figure they're worth sharing again :)

from Figure Drawing:

here's some selected from my sketchbook "cafe sketches" … or maybe I should call them "ninja sketches", because you really have to avoid being noticed as you're sketching...

and some pieces from our Figure Drawing for Animators (1) class:

and here's from Character design which, most everyone who comes here as seen my Will Halloway  and Grendel finished pieces, but I'm showing a little bit more this go-around

here are some storyboard pieces for my Final 30 second piece.  There were some changes obviously from the original story pitch to the final animation, but that happens quite frequently in the industry ;)

and here's my animation montage I entered (again, most have seen it, but not with the better lip-syncing)

and we had a choice to add extra, but two of those have characters I am currently working on for personal projects… so here's a final piece that kind of encapsulated my physical/mental state at the end of it all (ha …. ha…)

Signal-Boosting a Friend's work

A friend of mine has recently published their first novel: The Deadliest Echo

It's a science fiction thriller set in 1920's Soviet Russia and is available as an ebook or through their website www.reesehogan.com
I've read their writings before and they do not disappoint
feel free to spread the word :)

Final Flash project

not as refined as I had wanted it, and I'm now noticing a few bits I missed during my scrub throughs and I'll need to fix, but not bad for the end of my first Flash class in 10 years

have I mentioned I haven't slept for the passed 36 hours? This was my FINAL Final for the semester…I think sleep is now in order… oh wait, there's the the advancement reviews and the LAFF festival to prepare for… *crawls into a corner and sobs*

all kidding aside, thank's for dropping by and watching my scene :)

Final 30 second project

welp, we've shown our Final projects and are officially done with Animation 2.  My scene wasn't entirely finished, but our professor grades us on quality and punctuality, to help balance everything out, and he did tell me that I had done exceptionally well.  I couldn't really take the compliment at first, then I remembered this wasn't a teacher to exaggerate (besides animation extremes, hurr hurr).  And I have to apologize to all my classmates who told me that the same thing, and I couldn't believe them - you're your own worst critic, and after working on this for so long, all I could see were my mistakes, and not the good parts ya'll were pointing out.  Thanks for putting up with this "Debby Downer" :)

I'm still planning on finishing this for our little animation festival at the end of the month, but first I've got Flash animation to make sure I have finished…

so here you go.  my 30 second scene with Grendel and Anne, in "Grendel's Oasis"

Grendel and Anne and their adjoining intellectual properties are Copyright myself (Rayna Lenski) and may not be copied, sold, or distributed without my express written permission

hope ya'll like it, and I'll post up the finished piece after the animation festival :) thanks for dropping be!
